2. The petitioner is before this court in the following circumstances: The petitioner was said to be the erstwhile Chairman of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (hereinafter referred to as the KPSC, for brevity).

The KPSC had invited applications from eligible candidates for filling up 162 Group A posts and 200 Group B posts, in respect of which examinations were conducted and results were published as on 21.03.2013.
