Two weeks before my father, Melvin Weinbaum, died of prostate cancer, he told me he wished he’d done more with his talents. Listening to my dad’s lament spurred me to begin writing shortly after his passing in 1993. I began writing one liners like I was Forrest Gump crisscrossing the country — only I'm still going.
